Jill Swims!

So, when we were at the pool this afternoon, Jill started swimming from the steps to me, all by herself!  It was so exciting and we managed to get a video.  In this video she chooses to skip mom and go to GranDeb.

Just Plain Funny

Let's just say, I have no clue what the heck is going on here.  Jill is wearing Jake's underwear on her head (she loves sticking her head through the holes).  Fortunately it came out of the clean laundry in the basket behind her.  She is also carrying the mosquito spray that I coat the yard with to make it safe to play in.  And lastly she is pushing her popper.  All while wearing her swimsuit.  I wish I knew what was going on in her head at this moment!

So Jill's new thing lately is one of my personal favorites.  I love to watch her in action.

It usually starts with me smelling something foul.  Then I ask Jill, are you poopy?  Did Jill do poo-poo?  She smiles this shy smile.

Then I say, let's go change your poopy diaper.  So off she trots, without being distracted along the way - shockingly! - all the way back to her bedroom.  She walks right over to the corner, grabs a diaper, holds it up to me until I take it and then lays down on the floor to wait for her clean diaper. 

It is just so cute.  And it just amazes me to see that she has followed the whole process and now repeats it exactly by herself every time.  Babies are amazing!

Here is a pic of her sweet little face after it collided with the pool edge at Lifetime Athletic a few days ago.  She is okay now, but was not happy about it then! (sorry about the bad quality.  I had the camera on the action setting and all my pictures turned out bad this morning.)

One Year Approaches... Or should I say, Looms...

In honor of Jill turning 1 year old in 12 days (!) I am posting a montage of all her ages and stages. It makes me both happy and sad.  Happy because she is a beautiful, wonderful baby who has been a bigger blessing than I ever could have imagined and sad because she will never be this small again.

The video is a little crazy, but about 30 seconds in, you can see Jill take her first step! Very exciting!

Next week she will be 10 months old.

Watch Out World!

Watch out world, here comes Jill! This is Jill's newest pose, the pre-crawl. She has been working up to crawling for a week or so now and this was today's activity. She was up on her hands and knees and rocking backward and forward.

I am terrified because I know it is a matter of a day or two before she is crawling and I have not prepared for it yet!!!! Tomorrow I am going to some store and buying out all the plug covers in sight. Then I am coming home and vacuuming up every lego piece in every room (that will take a LONG while). I sure hope we survive this!

Jill's New Outfit

So, I am not usually one to brag (right?) but I am so proud of Jill's new outfit. I made it myself!

A very dear family friend of ours was preparing for her Long Journey (read "cleaning out her house before she kicks the bucket") and found some fabric she had been holding on to for several decades. She sent it with my mom to give me since I have a little girl and could use it for something. So, I decided to make this little dress I have been dying to make, but have never made time for.

It is perfect for summer and I didn't make the bloomers because it looks so adorable with her white lacy bloomers with her name embroidered on them! She looked precious at church this morning.

Jill's Pool

So, Jill got a new water play mat (aka "baby pool") to play in at our house this summer. Here are the pics of our first time last Friday. The little cutie had so much fun that no matter how hard I tried I could not get her to look up for a picture!

Avocados!

Jill had her first taste of avocados last night. I gave her a soft one in her little mesh feeder and at first she wasn't so sure because it wasn't her beloved bananas, but then she went to town.

Jill is getting so big now. She is 4 months old already. Here she is using her rainforest jumper. It is the new exersaucer I guess. She loves it in there but likes having her family nearby.

Our sweet little Jill just LOVES watching TV. Here she is watching with her dad. She usually watches from her back on the floor, so she was very happy to watch like this.

This was Jill's first time in the swing in the backyard. She enjoyed it but kept looking right like that. Mommy is buying her a new one, though because the ropes on this one snowed all over her (they are several years old after all - 5 or so) and I don't want her eating it or getting it in her eyes.

For those of you who are a little farther away I wanted to post a little video of Jill doing some talking. Now, I apologize that it is out of focus a little, I had to use a different camera since my video is not compatible with the blog, but I wanted you to see just how freakin' cute she is.

Okay, so there aren't hardly any pics of me on the blog (for good reason) so I decided to put this one up of me and Jill getting ready for her bath. She loves being in the big tub and floating so I get in with her almost every night. It is fun for both of us.

I know it is my kid so I am not impartial, but I just think she is the cutest. Here she is all dressed up for church in a dress lent to us by our friend from church, Becky.

Oh, and Jake has decided we will call her Jilly Bean, hence the title of the post.
